Virginia (Vail) Kaus sent me the pictures in this gallery. Her parents, Charles & Marjory (Rendle) Vail, met in Pedernales Venezuela in the late 1930's. Marjory was a school teacher from Rawlins, Wyoming And Charles was a civil engineer from Yonkers, New York working for Chicago Bridge and Iron. In his early years Charles Vail was responsible for clearing the jungles, with Venezuelan nationals, and building the camp infrastructure. They had two beautiful (IMHO) daughters, Virginia & Carolyn. Carolyn was in my (Randy Trahan's) 6th grade class in La Salina. The Vails lived in Pedernales, Caracas, Lagunillas, Tia Juana and finally La Salina. In Charles Vail's last assignment in Venezuela they lived in the La Salina Las Cupulas camp. He Retired in 1961. Since they lived all over, the pictures Virginia Vail sent to me are in several different galleries. Those included here are (mostly) from La Salina.

The pictures below were taken at a party. I remember adults throwing parties with some strange themes. I wish I knew what the theme of this party was and what kind of game they were playing with the lady's feet.
