Home General Interest I Kept House in the Jungle

In the January 1939 issue of National Geographic Magazine, there was an article by Anne Rainy Langley titled "I Kept House in the Jungle".  Mrs. Langley lived in Quiriquire back in the late 1930's, and her story is very interesting, though it seems to be a little, shall we say "enhanced", to keep the reader's interest.

Carolyn (Cronk) Birden laboriously scanned this article for me (36 pages), and I converted the images to an Adobe Acrobat file.  If you would like to read the article, click on the link below.  This is a fairly large file, so it will take a while to download if you have a dial-up connection.
